Do I need to have a talent?
A talent is not required and will not be part of the judging criteria. If you have a talent and you wish to share, let us know and if we have time, we may ask you to perform!
Do I need pageant experience?
No. Miss Saline is an Ambassador for the community. We are looking for a positive role model - one who is well-spoken and a confident individual who can relate to people of all ages.
Are grades a factor?
Yes, grades will be used in the judging process. You will be asked to submit an copy of your transcripts early on in the process.
Is leadership a factor?
Yes. Miss Saline is a leader so we expect contestants to have some form of leadership in their high school or community.
Are references required?
Yes. We ask that you supply two references with emails and phone numbers so they may be contacted prior to prelims.
Do I need to be available the week leading up to Summerfest in early August?
Yes. You are required to attend Preliminaries and the Miss Saline event at Summerfest.
What should I wear to the prelim judging?
Something that you feel good in and that is a reflection of you.
What should I wear to the Miss Saline event at Summerfest?
An evening gown and shoes that you have practiced walking in.
Whom may I invite to the crowning on August 12th?
Anyone and everyone! Family, friends, anyone important to you is welcome to attend this amazing event - it is free to the public.
Do I need to attend a 4-year college or university to receive scholarship funding?
No. We will consider all contestants who wish to use the scholarship money to further their education. This could be a 4-year in or out of state school, a 2-year community college, a trade school or certificate program.
